South Austin Living Water Outreach Day 4 – October 7, 2013

Haiti Living Water Outreach Day 4 October 7th

Up early as departure time was going to be 7 AM. The team of four responsible for breakfast fed us well! We all take turns. We left after the guys loaded the truck and trailer with the well equipment. The site is located in a village about 1 hour from our team house over mostly unpaved rough roads.  Once we arrived at the well site and prayed in both languages  the women walked to the local school to teach our Bible (John 21)and Hygiene  (brushing  teeth) lessons  for the day. We sang songs and did crafts tied to the lessons , played soccer and jumped rope.  After  the word spread that we were at the school the number of students swelled from 85 to over 100. The team at the drill site took turns to visit the school and share our lunchtime.

As to the well site, local men in the community came to help. Fortunately for shade, the well was being dug under a coconut palm tree and  they  quickly scaled the tree and knocked the coconuts down so as to protect the team. Today the team drilled down to 55 feet  but had to stop early due to a lightening storm that rolled through in the afternoon.
